English Language Teaching Resources
Aimed at teachers of English at primary and secondary levels, this course explores the use, assessment, adaptation and creation of teaching and learning materials from the traditional coursebook to multimedia resources such as visuals, audio and video. At the end of the course, participants will be able to analyse different kinds of teaching resources available for English teachers, evaluate their potential benefits and drawbacks, and learn how to adapt them to students’ needs in their own contexts. The course will also introduce and assess basic uses of information and communication technology (ICT) and their application to ELT.

Requisitos
El curso fue diseñado para docentes en ejercicio en el nivel primario o secundario. No obstante, podrán inscribirse otros perfiles interesados en la temática y que cumplan con los siguientes requisitos:
ara poder cursar deberá estar en ejercicio como docente u otro rol con función docente, incluyendo funciones de acompañamiento, orientación o supervisión, en establecimientos educativos de nivel primario o secundario o en institutos de formación docente de nivel primario o secundario (área de inglés) de cualquiera de las jurisdicicones; en equipos técnicos jurisdiccionales o estar inscripto en los listados de orden de mérito para el acceso a la docencia.
Certificación
Si usted tiene título docente, los cursos otorgan certificado y puntaje según las resoluciones 257/15, 310/16 y 317/17 sus modificatorias y/o adecuaciones normativas juridisccionales.
Programa
Course contents:
- An introduction to teaching resources: Difference between authentic and non-authentic materials. Advantages and disadvantages of using authentic materials in the classroom. Sample activities. The coursebook: How to choose a coursebook. Advantages and disadvantages of using a coursebook. Reflection on sociocultural aspects.
- Materials to develop and integrate different language and communication skills: Listening comprehension materials; reading materials; writing materials; materials for oral activities. How to adapt authentic material to develop language and communication skills.
- Multimedia resources: Visuals, audio and video materials applied to ELT. How to plan lessons with multimedia resources. Educational software: Different kinds of educational software. CD-ROMs- How to evaluate educational software.
- Information & Communication Technology applied to ELT: Different kinds of online materials. How to assess online materials. Difference between web 1.0 and web 2.0 applications. Webquests: Organization and characteristics. The use of Webquests as ELT online project work.
